About ChartCompass
ChartCompass is a small independent desk that reviews trading platforms and charting software for readers in Canada. Since 2022 we have compared tools the way a self-directed trader would use them: on a real install, over weeks rather than an afternoon, with the price of the data and the broker connection counted alongside the software itself.
What we do
We rank six platforms at a time and score each one on the same 12 criteria, from charting and order entry to Canadian usability and pricing clarity. Every review shows its full score table and at least one honest drawback. Prices are checked against the vendor's own pages every month, and the date at the top of each review tells you when it was last revised. The method is set out on the home page.
Our editorial team
Priya Raman
Managing Editor
Priya Raman has spent more than ten years charting futures and Canadian equities, first for her own account and later as a writer on trading software. She works mostly with depth-of-market ladders and footprint charts, and she keeps a simulated account open on every platform she reviews.
Priya signs off every review and guide on this site. Corrections go straight to her at info@chartcompass.co.
How we stay independent
We sign up for every platform through its public pages and pay for paid tiers ourselves when a trial falls short. Vendors do not see reviews before they are published and cannot pay for a position. Some outgoing links are affiliate links, and the site earns a commission when a reader subscribes through one. That income keeps the site running; it does not set the order of the ranking.
We do not give personal investment advice, and nothing here is a recommendation to buy or sell a security. ChartCompass is a publisher, not a broker or an adviser, and it never holds client money.
Who runs the site
